The Department, in partnership with UNDP under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) Program, has prepared magazines with the title “Roads2SDGs: Paving the Road to Good Governance” to showcase stories of beneficiaries of the CMGP Program. The stories aim to highlight how road projects, in particular, those under the Program, help beneficiaries in rural communities have better access to essential services and life opportunities.
Magazine No. 1
The Maiden issue of the Roads2SDGs Magazine showcases how road projects trigger the dawning of opportunities– featuring tales from the breathtaking mountains of Kalinga, the idyllic island province of the Dinagat Islands, and the rustic province of Iloilo.
It is hoped that these shared stories of communities turning their hurdles and challenges into tales of triumph may bring hope to many other communities and inspire more citizens to take part in the crusade as governance reformers and road warriors.
Magazine No. 2
CMGP Roads2SDGs Magazine No. 2 provides a deeper perspective on how improved local roads provided better market access for farmers, created convenient pathways to eco-tourism destinations, linked municipalities together, and empowered vulnerable sectors of the society from women’s organizations to indigenous peoples’ groups in the Provinces of Quirino, Leyte, Bukidnon, Zamboanga Sibugay, and South Cotabato
Magazine No. 3
CMGP Roads2SDGs Magazine No. 3 showcases how the citizenry are able to transform their communities when it is empowered by Local Government Unit (LGU)-allocated resources which, in this case, comes in the form of good road infrastructures in the Provinces of Bohol, Davao del Norte, Surigao del Norte, and Nueva Vizcaya and Pangasinan.
